Iraq is experiencing multiple challenges related to human rights and environmental preservation, and these challenges require the effective intervention of civil society and international partnerships. In this spirit, our project "Strengthening the voice of civil society and partnership in the field human rights and the environment in Iraq", implemented in partnership with UPP and with the support of the United Nations Democracy Fund, empowers civil society to achieve greater impact through campaigns in support of human rights and environmental conservation, and also aims to strengthen cooperation between civil society actors inside Iraq and internationally.

Project Objectives

1. Empowering Civil Society: The project aims to empower civil society organizations in Iraq to lead effective advocacy campaigns. By providing the necessary tools, training and support, we will enable these organizations to amplify their voices and advocate for human rights and environmental sustainability more effectively.
2. Enhanced cooperation: The project seeks to enhance cooperation between key actors within Iraqi civil society and their counterparts in international civil society. This collaboration is critical to the exchange of knowledge, strategies and resources to address common challenges and promote common goals.
3. Promoting human rights and environmental sustainability: The primary focus of the project is to strengthen the voice of civil society in defending human and environmental rights. By addressing these interrelated issues, we aim to create a fairer and more sustainable future for Iraq.

Main activities

1. Holding training courses and workshops to build the capacity of civil society organizations.
2. Facilitate dialogue and partnerships between Iraqi and international civil society actors.
3. Organizing advocacy campaigns focused on human rights and environmental issues.
4. Support initiatives that protect the environment and promote sustainable practices.

Through this project, we aspire to create a protected environment for future generations and foster a brighter society in Iraq, where every voice is heard. By strengthening the voice ofزcivil society and building strong partnerships, we are paving the way for a more just and sustainable future.
